What is my Ohio University email? ›

Your OHIO email address is your OHIOID@ohio.edu. Ensure you create a strong password using the University's password requirements. Many applications supported by OIT use Single Sign-On (SSO), which lets you access various systems with your OHIO email and password.

Timeline. Ohio University will fully migrate to Canvas by June 2026, when our Blackboard contract ends. Canvas opens to faculty and staff. Phase 1 faculty complete training with instructional designers.

Strong Password Rules

Plan for a minimum of 10 characters. Use special characters. Add capital letters, punctuation, and numbers.

edu email address is only for students. You must be enrolled in any accredited school, college, or university. Any educational institute offers such email addresses to its students.

You can find what your OU email address is on your Contact details on StudentHome. Take care to enter the email address correctly ending with ou.ac.uk - not open.ac.uk or my.open.ac.uk which is a common mistake.

BuckeyeMail is Ohio State's email service. Whether you're waiting on an admission decision or you've already been admitted, we'll send certain important emails (about housing and financial aid, for example) to your BuckeyeMail email address.

To log in, visit buckeyemail.osu.edu. Check your email several times a week until school begins, and then daily.

The first time you open the app, it will prompt you to set your account up. Enter your full OHIO email address. When prompted, log in with your OHIO ID and password.

Your OHIO ID is the first letter of your first and last names followed by six numerals. As soon as you receive your application acknowledgement letter, you can activate your OHIO ID.

Set up BuckeyeMail, and check your email regularly. Ohio State conducts business by email. We will use the unique email address that has been created for you (lastname. #@buckeyemail.edu) to communicate about financial aid, registration, billing, fee payment, grades and more.

Navigate to ohid.ohio.gov and log into your OH|ID account using your username and password. After logging in, click on the human icon in the top right corner of the screen next to the “Log Out” option. After clicking the icon, a drop down will appear with your name and user ID listed.

If you have forgotten or lost your password, or if you responded to a malicious email, you should reset your password. This error happens when you try to access a service that requires you to have multi-factor authentication enabled on your account.
