Yes. The Outage Tracker is mobile friendly and easy to use on your mobile phone or tablet by visiting CenterPoint Energy outage tracker.

Yes. You can report an outage on the tracker's site by clicking the red “REPORT” button and typing in your phone number (or meter number) and your house number.

You can find your location by typing your address into the “Find a location” search function. You can also find it by zooming in and out of the map area.

If you cannot find your address, please make sure it is typed correctly into the search bar. If your address still does not appear, your home may be outside of our electric service territory.

If the tracker does not show an outage, but you still do not have power, you may have an outage as a result of damage to customer-owned equipment, such as the weatherhead, meter-box or your breaker may need to be reset.

If you do not have damage to customer-owned equipment, you may be impacted by a nested outage. You may notice this if your home doesn’t have power, but others around you do. A “nested outage” occurs when our systems indicate power was restored to equipment in your area, but your home may be impacted by a more localized issue. Localized issues could include a damaged line fuse, transformer or possibly a tree on the service line that runs directly to a customer’s home.

This tracker is hosted on a cloud-based platform that allows for higher web traffic, includes additional features such as customer reporting of outages, and will allow for expanded growth of functionality.

New data is pulled into the tracker every five minutes. However, outage status may not change as it will only update if there is new information about your outage.

When you click the outage associated to your address, you’ll see a pop-up bubble that shows “Est. Restoration.” This will show your estimated restoration time.

If your outage notes, “Pending” it means your outage is under review.
